What is B.Sc. in Cosmetology?

Cosmetology is an emerging field in the world. People are more and more concern about

their appearances, skin and aging. Cosmetologists provide personal care services that

include caring for people’s hair, skin, and nails. This Bachelor of Science in cosmetology

program offers you an extensive training & knowledge in beauty & cosmetic formulation,

analysis, manufacturing beauty cosmetology. This program will also incorporate core

technical aptitudes with administrative & managerial skills, particularly required by the

Beauty & Wellness area.

Who conducts the B.Ss. in Beauty Cosmetology course?

This 18 months course is conducted by Medicina Alternativa – The Open International

Institute of Complementary Medicine (OIUCM), Sri Lanka and the final degree is granted

by University of Azteca university North America ( Recognized by University Grant

Commissions (UGC).

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has predicted 10% growth rate for cosmetology

B.Sc. in Cosmetology program will be maintaining their standards with the following entry criteria for the students.

Should be qualified with minimum NVQ level 04 or equivalent
Five (5) years of practical experience in cosmetic related field with NVQ level 05 or Seven (7) years of practical experience in cosmetic related field with NVQ level 04
Six (6) months will be exempted from the candidates who possess a medical background (They can complete the degree within 12 months)
